We have a tree right in front of our school room window that we hung some treats on for the birds and she was enjoying munching away..
We noticed a few things about this strong willed mama.
1. She rules the roost. When she came around all of the other birds flew away. She is a little bit of a bully.
2. There was no bright red hubby in sight. We kept checking throughout the day because usually we will spot the females first and the males are not far behind. But not that day.
3. Even know the males get so much attention because of their coloring, the females are just as beautiful, in a subtle kind of way.

One more thing... I have to give credit to Emma for the title. We were working on math while I was taking these photos and she told me what I should name this post.

Crazy good zoom you've got there! And we keep seeing the daddy cardinals out our way but haven't spotted any mamas! The daddies sit in the tree out back and watch while all the birds feed off the feeder. Strange. He's like a gorgeous STALKER!
