Wow! It's busy this week! Our co-op starts on Thurs. and I am teaching. I am excited to teach to Emma's age. Those kindergartners are so cute! And, my kids are SO excited to start their enrichment courses and see all of their co-op friends.
On top of prepping for my class, our Daisy troop is visiting a nursing home Fri, and having their valentine party Sat. It seems I have been working away from the computer this week in order to pull everything together. (In other words, there will be very little blogging!)
We are also starting to get ready to go on our annual winter trip to Maryland for some snow tubing, skiing, dog sledding, and a much needed break from school. But with the break next week comes some serious work this week.
Adrienne finished her art curriculum last week and is wrapping up vocab this week. She is working diligently and is strangely self motivated this year. I think she knows spring and summer are just around the corner. (Although you wouldn't know it with all this snow.)
Colin is doing tons of reading and really enjoying learning about the Medieval period in history. What boy doesn't love to learn about knights and castles. We are going to make a trip to the downtown library on Fri. to get some supplemental history books for him. He loves to dig deeper into these topics that interest him so much.
Emma's reading is really starting to take off. She is not as advanced as my older two were at her age, but she is plugging along. She loves all of her schoolwork and never gives me any grieve about getting it done. She has a love for learning like no other!
We are getting ready to brave the icy roads to go to ice skating and a birthday lunch with my mom. Her birthday was yesterday but we were unable to get together so the kids made her cards and are looking forward to spending time with her today.
Since schools are out I am sure there will be more snow play this afternoon as well as some school work.
I was finally able to capture a couple of photos of this beautiful woodpecker that has been visiting our feeder regularly. He is a sneaky little guy and hard to photograph but I got a few good ones.
Be careful on the roads today, and have another happy snow day!!!
