Colin had the opportunity to participate in a neat service project. We spent the day gathering supplies for a former Sunday School teacher who is going on a medical mission to Hondurus. She is allowed to take two Rubbermaid containers full of supplies; so upon receiving a list of items they are in need of Colin and I set out to help the people in this poverty stricken country.
Some of the supplies that Colin chose to donate were toothbrushes, scissors, hand sanitizer and visine. It was really eyeopening for him to realize that these people are in such need of things that we take for granted on a daily basis.

We read that Christopher Columbus named "Honduras" which means "depths" for the deep water off the coast.
The population of the country is about 7 million and the majority of the people speak Spanish.
The tropical climate of the country is perfect for growing coffee, bananas, and many other fruits.
The per capita income is ONLY $1,635 which leaves Honduras as one of the poorest countries in the Western Hemisphere.
Colin and I really enjoyed working on this little project together. Our hope is that this small donation will put a smile on someones face and let the people of Honduras know that we care!
