Mother's Helper

Adrienne had her first babysitting/mothers helper job today!
She has so been looking forward to babysitting for some time now. Back in November she took the Red Cross Babysitting Course with her best friend Anna and they both loved it!
With all the activities that she is involved in, an overload of school work (5th grade is hard these days), and how much I need her help babysitting around here, she really hasn't had time to focus on babysitting for other families until now.
But.. with summer just around the corner she decided to make a flyer and set it out on the info table of our co-op last week.
She was thrilled that almost all of the flyers were taken by the end of the day and that I had several mom's tell me "I will be calling her this summer".
So... when my friend Aimee called for her to watch her two little ones Adrienne was beyond excited. Although her first mothers helper job was at our house because it was closer to Aimee's appointment she took her job seriously.
All day she was thinking of activities to keep them busy and upon their arrival at 1:15 she had many things planned. Some of these plans included painting Mary's nails, playing American Girl dolls, playing outside, soccer, and the much needed snack times. (Adrienne knows that food makes young children happy!)
Things went really well and when Aimee returned she had several other dates to ask Adrienne about.
This is exciting for me because I used to love to babysit!
Adrienne is a wonderful mothers helper to me so it is no surprise that she is going to make a great babysitter.
What a milestone. I cannot believe how fast she is growing up!
(Jodi, Adrienne overheard me talking with you and is so excited to babysit for Anna and Sophia!!)

I thought that flyer was so cute! And so professional!! I KNOW Adrienne is great with kids so I'll keep her in mind when my own 12yo blossoming babysitter is otherwise occupied! :)

I loved babysitting too back in the day. Makes for terrific prep for Mommyhood! (One day FAR FAR FAR in Adrienne's future, that is :))
