Our last week of "school"!!!

We finished our "school" for the year today. When I say school I mean our K12 curriculum. Now that does not mean that there won't be learning going on in this house!
I have lots of plans for hands on learning this summer.
We will be focusing primarily on reading, nature, art, and a little hands on math but no more worksheets or spelling tests for us until the fall!!! YEAH!!
Some of my educational goals for the summer:
Adrienne: science experiments, nature study, sketching, sewing, cooking,
Colin: lots of reading, science experiments, nature study, woodworking
Emma: READING (I would love to get her reading by the end of August)
William: Story time once a week at the library, learning to swim
But most of all, FREE TIME and PLAYING OUTSIDE!
Here are some random pictures from our week.
HAPPY SUMMER!!

History in the hammock.

Adrienne making "habitats" for her pet snails.

Waiting for butterflies.

Math on the deck.

Emma working on upper and lower case letters.

William's dinosaur parade.

Big Sissy was up early this morning and William was thrilled. He had her all to himself before the rest of the gang woke up.

Planting our perennials and vegetable garden. A few of their choices: pumpkins, carrots, peas, lettuce, sunflowers, zinnias, and hollyhock. I am hopeful that we will have better luck this year!!
