A Block Party to Remember!!

We had our neighborhood block party on Sunday evening due to the terrible weather that came through on Sat. night. The kids were disappointed about postponing it even one day because this is one event that they look REALLY forward to! In fact, it may be their favorite night of the summer! So here is some of what went on... The favorite of all the kids (especially Colin) is the water balloon toss/fight. I think Kevin filled up close to 200 water balloons. (Very time consuming considering they are gone in less than 2 min!)

Emma, Jenna and Laney. Such great friends!
Good buddies: Colin and Sean

Adrienne and Nejwa: forever on their scooters.

The slip and slide was a huge hit. That's Colin in the picture above.

Little Emma thought the water was way too cold.
Colin with some friends eating dinner under the tent.
The girls (plus William) table.
The little girls and boy table.
William wandering in the middle of the street as usual.
I love this picture of William. He figured out how to open the cooler behind him, open the straw, put the straw in the juice box and get himself a drink. Mr. Independent!
Ms. Personality~Jenna
William showing Iman where to go.
William loves to swing on sissy's lap. Sissy loves it too!

A very competitive game of volleyball.
Emma trying out the rope swing.
Waiting in line for a turn with the rocket launcher.
Emma and her new friend Ava.
Lining up for the water balloon toss.

The winning team (and every other kid) chasing Kevin down with water balloons. He was soaked by the end of the night!
William stealing the bucket of water balloons.
Jenna's ready to attack.
Their next "dad victim" in the water balloon fight.
The kickball game that lasted forever! (In my husband's eyes because he was the pitcher/referee.)
I had to post this picture of Colin since this game was special to him. He lost a tooth remember? Well all along I thought a ball hit him in the mouth but I found out later that he was chewing on the string in his bathing suit and somehow got it stuck on his tooth??? If you know Colin you understand that this is typical behavior around here!
On a brighter note...
The kids had such a great time and can't wait until next year (yes, they are already talking about it ). I know they will treasure these memories for many years to come!
