Playing in the rain/MUD

I can't keep Colin inside this summer! Even on this nasty/rainy day he wants to play outside. Look how dirty he is!!
"What happened to you?" I ask.
"Just fell in the creek a couple of times" he replies.
"But those are your tennis shoes, and remember you have ruined like five pairs of shoes this summer" I say.
"Sorry" he said, and I think he means it???
It's hard to be mad when he is just a seven year old boy having the best summer ever!!
You're only young once right???
