Colin at the beach

(I promise I am almost done with my beach pictures...)
What can I say about Colin at the beach this year???
He was adventurous that is for sure! (Almost gave me a heart attach a few times!) I would look out and he would be right there and then within seconds he was just WAY too far out. He was so consumed with catching the next big wave that he would forget. Oh, we had to have several little talks about this. I tried to scare him with some stories that had been in the news at that time but to no avail. He's just daring and willing to take risks. He gets that from Kevin NOT ME!
I'm the one a few feet out looking for fins and remembering the Jaws movies scene by scene. That's it, maybe we need to rent those movies before we go next time???
Anyway, back on track, Colin LOVED being in the water and riding the waves. He and his boogie board were inseparable. He was also the king of huge sand castles. His absolute favorite thing to do was to build a castle with a moat and wall around the moat during low tide, he would try to make it as indestructible as possible and wait for the tide to come up. He loved watching how long it took for the water to take his creative creation under.
He also enjoyed taking "nature walks" with me. We found one of the biggest jellyfish I have ever seen washed ashore. Very cool!
Colin, You kept me on my toes this vacation. No laying back and shutting my eyes on the beach because I needed to have my eyes on you in the water the whole time! I loved watching your free spirit, nature loving self in your natural element. The first picture below is my favorite of you. That is the real you at 7 1/2 you are the life of the party, yet sweet and lovable. You have grown up SO much this summer. Thank you for loving to go on bike rides with me, pointing out the scary lizards to me, because even though you love them, you know how scared I am, always giving me lots of hugs and telling me "thank you so much for taking us on vacation, I love it here". I had a great time with you and can't wait to go back.

Either you blow that first photo up to a massive size and frame it or I WILL! That is an amazing shot of him and it would look SO great hanging in his room!!! I will be hounding you about this.

And that last photo really shows how much he's changed because he just looks like a completely different kid from the start of summer.

He's a wonderful boy and we are so glad to count him among Rhyse's best, very best, friends.

I agree, that first one is very frame worthy! I took a picture of Thomas a year ago and had Shutterfly.com blow it up to poster size. It is so much better than any superhero! And he loves it!
