Happy Birthday Johnny Appleseed (a day late)

We celebrated Johnny Appleseed's birthday with lots of fun apple books, (my favorite was this one), a trip to the apple orchard, and one of my favorite fall desserts. (I put the recipe at the bottom of the post).
I wanted to get to some apple crafts this weekend but with sleepovers, shoe shopping (we were entering fall with nothing but crocs and flip flops), soccer pictures, a football game, and a million other things, my fun little crafts will have to wait until this week.
Happy Sunday! I am so happy to finally see the sunshine!!!!

Here's the recipe for this YUMMY Apple-Oat Crisp I made last night.

5 med. apples-peeled, cored and sliced

1/3 cup packed brown sugar

1/3 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

3/4 cup old fashioned oats

1/2 cup melted butter

1/3 cup water

Arrange apples in a buttered baking dish

Combine sugars, flour, and oats and stir in butter in a bowl

Spread mixture over apples

Pour water over apples

Bake at 375 for 30 min.

We like it best served warm with vanilla ice cream!
