Keeping him busy

Homeschooling with a two year old can at times be just a LITTLE challenging. The older kids and I are really starting to dive right into their curriculum and with schooling three for the first time I thought I better come up with some fun things for William to do while I'm working with the other kids. I spent a lot of time getting together some Montessori based, somewhat independent activities for him to "work"on throughout the day.
I broke out this "bean box" (as he calls it) and he just loves it! It was very affordable. I just bought an under the bed storage box and went to Target's dollar section and found measuring cups/spoons, bowls, and found a variety of Meijer brand beans to add, along with a few other spoons/cups/etc. on clearance at Meijer.
In the photos he is playing in our school room but since then the bean box has stayed out on the deck as we do a lot of our school out there in the fall. It has been way to gorgeous to be inside these days!
I also filled another Rubbermaid container with lots of other activities for him to explore during school time. I am trying to only bring out one or two new things a week so that they will last a while. Will post with more soon.
