He started the day opening gifts. His favorite were the animal nesting blocks and animals sound puzzles. They have been a huge hit!
After breakfast we went for a short walk and headed into Charleston where we took him to the Children's Museum. He is at the PERFECT age for this museum. There was nothing he couldn't do, as the museum is really geared for children 6 and under.
He played and played and played, and had the best time!
When he was done exploring we went to my favorite restaurant in Charleston, Hyman's Seafood. YUMMY!!!We returned back to Kiawah, spent some time on the beach, sang Happy Birthday, and celebrated with a cake we picked up at the local grocery.I loved this day because there was no getting ready for a party, no cleaning the house in preparation for guests arrival, and really just no planning in general. That rarely happens around these parts so it was a nice change of pace!
I left out all of the beach pictures from his birthday because I want to do a separate post with only beach photos but here is the rest of Williams special day.
He had no problem tearing through the wrapping paper. He is going to LOVE Christmas this year!

William, what a wonderful, busy, fun-filled year it has been with you!!! You have brought so many smiles and so much laughter to me (and all of your family) over the past two years. It is so much fun to watch you growing up and coming into your own. Yes... you are becoming VERY independent!!! And the way you are talking, I can hardly believe it! Hope you had a great 2nd Birthday!!!! Love you so much!!!!!!!

What a very sweet birthday! I know exactly what you mean about the cleaning and preparing. It must have been so nice to just spend the day with him without all the other stuff! :)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, WILLIAM!
What a darling little man you are! We just adore you to bits and are looking forward to wishing you many more birthdays to come.
Thanks for being Creux's first (and best) friend.
That is a great way to spend a birthday! And I love the birthday boy t-shirt! Too cute!
Happy Birthday William! That museum is really cute. My kids enjoyed it when we took them, especially the castle part.
