Everyday we incorporate 20-30 minutes of Silent Sustained Reading into our homeschool day. The kids pick what and where they want to read. Sometimes it's in their room, on the swing set, in the hammock, or on the couch. Today it was the deck with our kittens . We have been doing the good majority of our school work outside partly because of our furry little friends hanging around so much.
Adrienne's book of choice is The Secret Garden and Colin is reading a children's Bible. After going to his first CCD class last Sunday he informed me that he wanted to read bible stories for his SSR. Isn't that cute? He is a spiritual guy. Look at the bottom pictures- William is following in his footsteps. I love the photos of these two boys!!! What great friends they will be someday.

Those are some really sweet pictures, Jenny! And they're taste in literature is excellent! :) We've been spending as much time outside as possible lately too. Just thinking about January is enough to move me right out the door ;)
