Spooky Halloween Candy Houses

I picked up these cute little haunted house kits at Michael's for $5 (with a coupon, they are regularly $10).
As soon as the kids saw them they were begging to get to work. This is a gingerbread house loving bunch of kids I have here!
I held them off until yesterday, and although I really wasn't feeling up to mixing icing and helping construct these mini mansions (they were a bit high maintenance and I have a nasty cold) I gave in and let them have a much needed afternoon break from school work to let their creative candy juices flow.
I think they turned out pretty cute, just the touch to make my kitchen a little more spooky... although I have to be careful because I do have a real-life cookie monster living with me who has eaten almost every last piece of candy off of these delicious houses!

Those are really cute!! I was thinking about making haunted houses with rice crispy treats like we did the little houses last Christmas, but those are really adorable! I might have to make a trip over to Micheal's this weekend ;)

William is cracking me up!
That kid has the sweetest tooth around town!

Those houses don't stand a CHANCE with Creux around--maybe we should hide those before piano time so we don't find him hiding in a corner with Adrienne's lovely house, eating it to bits with William shrieking, "NO! GO AWAY!" :)
