The Big Apple

Our journey began right in the heart of New York City. I have been to the city before but certainly never left on a cruise from there. Growing up when we would go on cruises we left from either Miami or San Juan so this was a new experience for me as well as the kids.
Words cannot express how truly amazing it was to see the city from our own balcony on the ship! We had a perfect view of the Empire State building.
Unfortunately I didn't take my camera to dinner because as we were sitting in the dining room the first night Colin said "Look everyone, right there, it's the Statue of Liberty". That is something I will never forget, and was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Here are some photos of the boat when we first pulled up to park our car. This boat is enormous and is the biggest in the line of Carnival ships. There were 4,300 people on board, with 12 floors. Surprisingly, it didn't feel too crowded.
These are some happy little travelers. They were SO excited!
The views were truly breathtaking.

We left Mon. evening and were at sea two days. Our first stop was in Port Canaveral Fl. on Thanksgiving day. More pictures soon...
