Snow Ice Cream, Snow Men, Snow Playdoh, Oh My!

We are back to school this week, but taking things slowly.
I love this time of year when we are home and really working on our core subjects.
My kids have been homeschooling long enough now to know that if they get the majority of their bookwork done in these cold months they WILL have a longer summer!
Although we love math and language around here (ha, ha) we need to have a little hands on fun too!
And with this frigid weather it is the perfect time for snowy treats. On the top of our favorite winter treats list is snow ice cream.
The recipe I used:
Large bowl of ice cream (or 1 gallon)
I cup of milk ( I use whole )
1 cup sugar
1 tbsp. vanilla

I have also been trying to find ways to keep William busy this winter.
I found an adorable snowman marshmallow craft at No Time For Flashcards that is perfect for little hands. I am realizing more every day that my little 2 1/2 year old is ready for some preschool activities, which means there will be even more planning in my future...
One of William's favorite things to do is play with playdoh so I knew when I saw the idea for snow playdoh we just had to make it!
The recipe I used:
1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
1 tbsp oil
1 cup water
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tbsp. white paint
and to make it really fun, lots of glitter!!! (Emma's favorite part!)
We are off for a night away at Great Wolf Lodge tomorrow.
Hope you all stay warm and be careful on those roads. The snow if coming!

Love the crafty ideas you do with your kiddos. I wish I would have had the patience & creativity to do that when they were little.

The Littles would LOVE that snowman craft! Super cute! (Though mine eat the darn mallows faster than I can get it on the craft table!!!)
