First Fish of the Season

One of the reasons we got the property behind our fence cleared out last fall was so the kids could make it down to our little creek. The woods were a mess with so many thorn bushes and poison ivy that it wasn't safe for the kids to even go back there. Last summer we spent a lot of time creeking at parks and it got to the point where Kevin and I agreed that if we just spend a little time and money to make a path down to our creek it would be well worth it.
And it is!
The kids are already enjoying exploring in the water and my nature boy Colin is out there all the time.
Yesterday he caught his first fish of the year and he was so proud!
He is anxious for the tadpoles to come out (which should be in April).
If you know Colin you know he is obsessed with frogs so to be able to catch tadpoles in our backyard is going to be like finding gold for him!
I am looking forward to all the treasures that our little creek in our little woods brings us this summer!
